On October 29, I had the honor of participating in a talk at the Getafe campus of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where we addressed one of the most relevant questions for the future of the practice of law: Will artificial intelligence be able to replace the lawyer?
During the session, I shared a central idea that I consider fundamental: AI is not a threat to those who adopt it and integrate it into their work, but to those who decide to resist it. In a world where artificial intelligence is emerging as the dominant technology of the future, our profession must evolve towards a model of digital lawyer, able to take advantage of technological tools to ensure more efficient, transparent and equitable access to justice.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Law Association of the Carlos III University of Madrid for the invitation and for the excellent organization of this meeting. It was a pleasure to be able to reflect and debate with brilliant students on the challenges and opportunities that artificial intelligence poses for law.
